Black is certainly beautiful. I've discovered this when I was 16 years
old, when another black boy noticed me from afar in the church pew and
stated that he loved my smile. From that moment on, I thought that was
my best feature. From earlier ages, I was always the tallest and darkest
girl in school and all the black boys liked the lightest sistas or the
white gals. Now, I know you can imagine how this made me feel. I was
uncertain of who I wanted to be then. I either wanted to be a professional
boxer like my father, a rapper, a singer, or maybe an architect. The
fact was... I wanted to be somebody, and somebody who is important.
I didn't appreciate my height until I was 19. That's when men started
to really dig my long legs. I realized then I had a greater advantage
over some other females and every sexy thing I wore showed my sexy long,
long legs. I had always dated short guys, maybe because they looked
up to me. How funny. I have not yet found a tall Brotha who treated
me like I deserved to be treated and I'm still waiting.
I believe now that I found my roots, I
am very special, a model for all Blackberry's. Every dark Sista like
me is a Blackberry. We've come from a struggle dealing with pain and
rose to be beautiful strong black females. Blackberry's should walk
graciously, as they were once unnoticed and now hard too resist. Blackberry's
have sooo much flava!
